About Us
Solas is a new network for entrepreneurs formed to enable the Founders and CEOs of innovative, knowledge based Small & Medium Enterprises (SME’s) interact for mutually beneficial support in the Munster region of Ireland. Innovative, knowledge based businesses are those developing products and services for international markets in Computers, Telecommunications, Energy, Life Sciences, Food.
SOLAS aims to support SME's in particular by providing a forum to network and obtain free expertise. The initial formation was assisted by the support of Enterprise Ireland, Genesis Enterprise Programme, The Rubicon Centre and FAS.
Objectives and Principles:
SOLAS aims to facilitate mutually beneficial support for knowledge based, locally owned, Small & Medium Enterprises (SME’s) in the Munster region by providing:
* A forum which allows the sharing of knowledge, expertise, business experience, and resources for the facilitation of sector specific discussion groups.
* Peer or external expertise.
* Publication of appropriate information.
* Nurture mutually beneficial networking, but preventing inter-member hard selling.
* Representation for the group in dealing with external bodies, specifically government agencies.
* Assistance to potential start-up enterprises.
Solas Apply to Join:
Solas Network is currently inviting applicants for membership. Potential members should review the Solas Constitution, (
Solas Constitution) prior to applying for membership. Applicant’s are deemed to have agreed to the terms, if they apply for membership.
Successful applicants will be admitted as Solas Members after the AGM.Those who have successfully applied for membership, will be invited to, and have voting rights at the AGM.Applicants should contact the Solas Membership officer at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Solas Interest Groups:
Solas will facilitate networking and meetings of industry specific groups should a sufficient number of members wish to partake in such activities. Meetings can be organised, in keeping with the current events schedule, or organised at separate times. The aims and organization of these interest group meetings will need to conform to the Solas constitution, with deliverance of attendee list, and minutes for publication afterwards.
